MONTESSORI CURRICULUM

Montessori is a philosophy which was developed based on the fact that a child has immense capacity to absorb and learn naturally from birth to the age six. The child’s brain functions like a sponge, absorbing everything in its environment.

PREPARED ENVIRONMENT

The “prepared environment” is Maria Montessori’s concept that the environment can be designed to facilitate maximum independent learning and exploration by the child. A child must learn by using his/her hands as the instruments of knowledge.

TRAINED TEACHERS

The Montessori Directress acts as a guide for children and are AMI(The Association Montessori  Internationale) trained, an association established by Maria Montessori to protect the integrity of her work and to support high standards for both teacher training and schools.

When Dr. Maria Montessori established the Casa dei Bambini more than 100 years ago, she created not only a classroom where children would receive an academic education, but also a social and emotional environment where children would receive and give respect to one another. At Haven, we strive to create a respectful relationship among parents, teachers, administrators, and students.

Haven International Montessori School is an initiative by Mrs. Lakshmi Devi and Mrs. Sowmy George with a vision to spread the light of Montessori philosophy to many children and families. We pride ourselves on an approach that embraces the Montessori Method and delivers a program as challenging, stimulating, and inspiring for the young children.

Haven preschool started up in Thrissur, Kerala, on September 2016, based on a comprehensive education founded on AMI curriculum.

AMI Heritage

The term “Montessori” was never trademarked; any school can claim to make use of the educational method. Haven Pre school demonstrates its commitment to its AMI (Association of Montessori Internationale founded by Dr. Maria Montessori) heritage through the training of its faculty and staff. All our directresses are AMI trained.

Mission

To provide a safe and nurturing Montessori environment that fosters collaboration, cooperation and peace and to provide experiences that promote curiosity and inquiry. The school’s approach is grounded in the principles of AMI Montessori education
